The only authentic japanese style hotel in Tokyo!

Next to Tokyo University is a quiet and peaceful area with small private houses and narrow streets. Among the private houses is an old Japanese minshuku, which have existed for generations. It is without doubt the most charming Japanese style accommodation in Tokyo, all made of wood and stone, with traditional style rooms and Japanese garden. Since it has excised for more than 100 years, it is a bit run down, but the atmosphere is remained unchanged.
The minshuku is admired by many other Japanese people who want to open their own minshuku, and they often visit this place to gather inspiration of how a traditional Japanese style inn should look like.

Since Tokyo University is located next door, you have many cheap and casual restaurants in the local area. It is also very easy to do some sightseeing from here, since there are three different metro stations within walking distance. This gives you easy access to all the major sights.
Even though this is a minshuku, they do not have any curfew, but the reception desk closes at 22h00. Therefore, check in later then 22h00 is not possible, and will result in cancellation.

Being a traditional style minshuku, all private facilities (toilet and bath) is located in the hallway, and is used together with the other guests staying here. Also note that the building is very old, and therefore some noise from the neighboring guests might accrue. It is always preferred to keep a quiet atmosphere while staying here.
There are vending machines for drinks, and all the rooms have a small TV, cooker for tea and an empty refrigerator for your own food or drinks. Laundry machines are also available.

The minshuku is divided into three building, Honkan, Daimachi Bekkan and Morikawa Bekkan.

Honkan is the main building, and is made of wood. The house has 25 rooms in total located on the ground or first floor. There are two common baths in this house, one for each gender. In this house you also find a small shop, where you can buy drinks and Japanese snacks.

Daimachi Bekkan is the neighbor of Honkan, and is the oldest house of the three houses. The rooms here are without doubt the most beautiful. There is an extra building connected to the house made of concrete, with some bigger rooms. This annex building I a bit run down, and is normally used for school groups. In total, the house has 31 rooms. Furthermore there is also a huge traditional style banquet room for groups. There are two big common baths and one hot mineral water bath.

Morikawa Bekkan is the newest building of the three houses, located 3 minutes on foot from Honkan and Daimachi Bekkan. This house is mostly made of concrete, but with a very traditional atmosphere. Morikawa Bekkan has 33 Japanese style rooms. The house is normally used for school groups. A huge banquet room with tatami mats is also available in this house. There are two big common baths and one family bath.
